This concept utilizes rhetorical tropes to communicate the imperative mitzvot (civic duty) of grass roots representation of the Judeo-American community. Based on my research, the burgeoning American graphic novel scene had its auspicious origins in the Jewish Community, greatly informing my formal approach to this project. The metaphor & synecdoche tropes are employed to persuasively communicate the intended message. (synecdoche in that the yarmulke clad man represents the whole Jewish Community, and physical sprouts from the yarmulke as a metaphor for cultural growth and greater political representation.)
In this poster, attention is given to the contrast between political representation and marginalization. Without the forum for democratic processes and equal representation, government runs the risk of acting without reproach and committing unspeakable attrocities. The personification, metonymy and synecdoche tropes are employed to persuasively communicate the intended message. (synecdoche in that the Hebrew Glyph represents the whole Jewish Community, the attic referencing the indexical context of the Holocaust, and the Glyph acquiring humanlike characteristics.)

conclusions: The sensitivity of the framing device in the composition was called into question. General consensus was that the stroke was too prominent and too evidently digital. Including the diagonal frame in the numerals poster seemed arbitrary- it was suggested that i make some contrast between frames to make them appear discreet and purposefully separated. The composition in which a zooming mechanism was employed proved more dynamic and produced a favorable reaction. It was agreed that the content and rendering style were appropriate to my demographic. Too many superfluous background elements were included in the "grow our roots" poster and proved distracting.
